Penang Trip- Day 1

It has been a long time since we had our family vacation, there's always either 1 of us can't make it. Still remember the last family vacation we had was way back in year 2004 when my whole family went to Melbourne to attend my convocation. Yeah..i know it's been quite a while...That's life after everyone starts working....

We finally had a chance to have our short family outing after sooooo many years and thanks to eldest sister for making this trip a reality(coz sister gotta go to Penang for business trip, so she suggested we all go there and teman her!!! ). Weekend trip to Penang-Ipoh for good food hunt. I know it's like a weekly routine for lots of family to travel together, but for us to get together and have such an outing is sooooooooooooooooooo hard!! So even a nearby short trip is as good as an oversea vacation. Still remember my 1st trip oversea to USA was when I was only 3 months old?!?! Dad, I promise you that I'll bring you for holiday oversea soon yeah....
Day 1- Lunch

We started our journey from KL at 7am and reached Penang almost lunch time. Dad was already excited waiting for our arrival at the hotel. Without waiting much longer, started our Good Food Hunt 1st destiny @ Jln Maccalistor.....

The famous Penang Char Kuay Teow..
Wantan Mee with Pork lard.....

Assam Fish...
Last dish for this session--> Fried fish Noodle soup....

Afternoon Tea
After lunch, we drove around the city and visited bought some Penang famous cookies(tau sah peah which is not to my liking....). Then sister suggested to go for afternoon tea at E&O Hotel since we have not been there before....

Eastern & Oriental Hotel, Penang.....

Welcome to Cafe 1881......
Cafe 1881, the distint Colonial set-up....

exclusive China ware, made me feel as if I'm a Queen in England.........

The long awaiting Afternoon tea set, from scones, sandwishes, pastries to sumptious cakes...

A closer look at the unique cakes that includes cheesecame, meringue, fruit tarts and chocolate cake, strawberry chocolate dip....sinful treat!!!

Satisfied with a full tummy......

Sis took this photo and insisted me to upload to my blog--> the Colonial style costume, bicycle and revolving door......

After that, we drove around the city and discovered this......squatting while eating at the roadside...Think you can only get this kind of tradition in Penang....

While passing through the rows of shops in front of Traders Hotel, dad discovered something special-->FOOD again!! This round is at the small lane between the row of shoplots.... boiled peanut dessert. I've never tried something as good as this!!!!Must try..and this stall is famous among the local too!!! Guess we're qualify to be the King & Queen of Food Hunt!!!

Gee...I was soooo full that I could hardly move by then......
